African Spirit Trading 14
African Spirit Trading (AST) is a privately held company engaged in mining aggregate resources, principally silica sands, clays and gravels in southern Africa. The company owns mining rights to four substantial silica sand concessions in close proximity to Johannesburg and Pretoria.
African economies are growing rapidly, exhibiting substantial demand products such as sand for concrete (“readymix”), plastering sand, sand for tiles, as well as specialists sands for smelters.
AST uses modern processing technologies sourced from Europe to deliver a consistent long term supply of high quality feedstock to major offtakers.
Sand mining causes widespread damage to the environment through uncontrolled use of water. AST’s sand processing plant into Africa reduces water usage by 90%.
